What separates "us" from "them?"
We generally look to apologize when we make mistakes. They don't. That's what separates humans with conscience from slavish machines.
That's a self-serving thing to say, but it makes me feel better. I am retracting and apologizing for my Steinsaltz post. I think I could make an argument for my reading. But it would be a profoundly bad argument. For their comments which clarified what Steinsaltz's (now I can say obvious) intentions were, I am grateful to Daniel Rogoff, ChayNobody, and E-man.
I *am* working on getting interview/questionnaire subjects. Have emunah! This blog will get better soon!
Will these interviews be just another "Daas Hedyot" type of thing?
